This Temple is a branch of Self-Realization Fellowship, founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920 to disseminate the scientific method of Kriya Yoga Meditation. When Uday Chudasama opened his Centre for Self Realization in Winnipeg in 1999, he built his counselling approach around the idea that "we are human beings, not human doings." He advocated that self-realization is possible when we stop identifying ourselves by what we do, and focus on what we can be. It is an internal approach to living that says that we, too often, see ourselves through what we have accomplished or acquired in real terms, rather than on seeing ourselves as beings that can be constantly reaching for higher levels of personal growth.

In the midst of this changing world, Seconde grew up in the 1970s and 1980s, and her stories of life in Africa are fascinating to read, from walking miles just to attend school, to being struck by lightning, and trying to make sense out of the various religious and cultural influences of Africa and the Western world she experienced.

So just by sitting in the presence of someone who has fully reached self realization, you will begin to feel something happening inside you, meditation will happen on its own. But they are all essential paths to embrace so that we can experience true Self-Realization - just as a tree needs roots, a trunk, and branches to be whole.

So he who seeks new doctrines continuously but does not put them into practice in his life is in continual spiritual starvation. Self-realization is to experience the nature of your very own Self, Vishnu from that vantage point, to understand the non-self known as "William".

The message and the evidences of Christianity presuppose in us the clear sense of our own personality when they speak to us of- sin, and when they point us to a life beyond the grave; and we are fit critics of their claim in proportion as we can realise this, our deep and separate existence.
